Known above all for its wine, the city of Montefalco is located in an enchanting geographical position. From the viewpoint, in fact, it is possible to see a large part of Umbria admiring the towns of Perugia, Assisi, Spello and Foligno, as well as the beautiful hills full of vineyards.
In this beautiful landscape, wines of unforgettable texture, complex and elegant, are born, capable of telling the best of a whole region, Umbria.
The Rosso and Sagrantino di Montefalco are renowned. Montefalco Rosso DOC is one of the best known red wines in the Umbria region. A wine of extraordinary freshness and balance, the result of a traditional blend of Sangiovese, Sagrantino and Merlot which is left to mature for about a year in large oak barrels.

Norcia with its millenary culture has accumulated a surprising baggage of traditions, the sacred and the profane mix in the secular events.
The city of Norcia offers various high-quality gastronomic products, which preserve the taste and flavor of the foods of the past, respecting the peasant traditions, handed down from generation to generation.
The cured meats and cheeses such as ricotta salata, soft caciotta, pecorino, prosciutto, ciauscoli salami are all made with ancient criteria.
Norcia is also the first city in the ranking for the production of black truffles, the most prized on the market, the protagonist of many recipes of international cuisine and the object of active export from Italy.

Tradition is the basis of the cuisine of Umbria. The typical dishes of the Umbrian tradition are based on meat and products of the earth. It is a simple cuisine, with not too elaborate workings, which clearly enhance the flavors of the raw materials.
The roots of Umbrian cuisine lie in the civilization of the Umbrians and Romans with frequent use of legumes and cereals. Typical of the whole territory is the processing of pork and the production of cured meats.
A specialty of Umbrian gastronomy is the Torta al testo, which was born as an alternative to bread in the lunches of peasant families and owes its name to the cooking surface, called "testo", that is the brick tile on which, in ancient Rome, the focaccias were cooked.
